“Life is like a box of chocolates…..you never know what ya gunna get.”
~ Forest Gump
As I sit down to write this first story, I am watching my Ego/Mind chatter on about how long it took me to actually sit down to write and how many blocks there have been in starting this process.
It jumps around to various thoughts of, will anyone be interested in what I have to say, is this just a therapeutic exercise for me to fully understand the healing process of my past, present and future, or is it all of the above?
There are dozens more scenarios I play out in my overthinking mind.
Until finally the SELF (Higher Self, My Spirit), that awareness in me that is the “Observer of my thoughts” says:
TONYA!!!! STOP! with all the mind chatter and JUST START!!
“OK!….OK already”….
You may have heard the quote, “We teach best what we most need to learn” by Richard Bach.
Even at an early age, I knew that I had fears and wounds that I wanted to heal. Traditional counseling had certainly helped me clarify that which needed to be healed, but it only brought me to a certain point in my healing. The next chapter of my journey would require me to take a deep dive into the unknown.
At some point in this journey, I had to decide what I truly wanted in my life. I asked the Universe to show me the way to my purpose.
And it was as if the Universe responded with… “You really want to know what your purpose is?”
“Well, OK, but it’s going to get rough and I’m going to have to kick your ‘Ass’ in order for you to clear out false beliefs you have about yourself.”
And then the Universe proceeded to kick my “Ass” in various ways for the following 6 years.
What was on the other side of that journey was the liberation and the various spiritual practices and trainings that taught me how to respond skillfully rather than react to what life throws at me.
This blog will start with the stories of the last ten years of how I was guided to my next right steps to find my purpose. After sharing those stories, who knows what I will be guided to write about.
But for right now, I invite you to take this journey with me.
Stay tuned for more of this story…
Look forward to reading your next post and finding out more about your journey. I am sure others can learn from it. You are beautiful 💕
Congrats on getting started! Keep going.
Congratulations Tonya . Great first step and looking forward to each one from you

Life is a journey thru a mountain range. Valley's, mountain peaks, streams to cross, hassards to avoid, and trees to climb in order to see clearly. Tell us about your mountain range.
The journey starts with the first step. I have been looking forward to your blog and I will be looking forward to the next posts. I loved your reference to Richard Bach, I read his Illusions regularly.
The first step was set, eagerly looking forward to your next.
